Brand New Site (0day) - For now, you should just add AdSense to the blog. For the first 30 days, get at least one post a day up, at least 200-500 words. They can be smaller, 200 word posts.

1-3 Months - Continue building links and posts. Now you can sign up for Kontera text ads.

3-6 Months - You should have a wealth of information on your site, along with a decent PageRank. Work on building your PR to utilize higher paying monetization methods.

6 Months to 1 Year - Begin selling advertising space, an eCommerce store, or other forms of higher end monetization. The site should be stuck at #1 now.
